Suspension wear happens slowly enough that most people stop noticing it. The ride gets floaty, the car leans more in turns, bumps produce a clunk, and the steering develops a little play before it responds.
Because it is gradual, drivers often only realize how bad it had gotten after it is fixed. The parts involved also affect braking and alignment, so this is not purely a comfort issue.
What YBE Checks and Repairs
We check each corner for worn shocks and struts, including whether they are leaking oil, and we test suspension joints for play: ball joints, control arm bushings, sway bar links and tie rod ends.
Steering complaints get their own inspection: tie rod ends, the steering rack, and power steering condition. Play in the steering wheel before the wheels respond points somewhere specific, and we identify which joint it is.
Because these components set the alignment angles, we recommend an alignment after replacing anything that affects them, and we tell you when that is necessary rather than adding it automatically.

Why This Should Not Wait
Worn suspension lengthens stopping distance, because a tire that is bouncing is not fully gripping the road. It also accelerates tire wear and puts extra load on nearby components.
Some of these parts, particularly ball joints and tie rod ends, are safety-critical. When they fail completely, they fail suddenly and take away steering or wheel control.
